Oper Policies
Opers...
- Shall NOT use their oper powers in an abusive manner.
- Shall NOT interfere in everyday channel operations.
- Shall NOT modify or drop user nicknames or channels unless they break MicroSwift terms of service.
- Shall NOT user oper-override against channel owner's wishes or for entertainment purposes.
- Shall NOT use their oper powers for personal reasons, revenge, entertainment, or grudges.
- Shall NOT harrass other members or opers.
- Shall NOT use their oper position to influence or intimidate other users.
- SHALL set a positive example for all users of the network by following the rules and being kind and helpful.
- SHALL use secure SSL connections for enhanced security and privacy at all times possible.
Server Policies
Having a server on the MicroSwift Network requires responsibility and resources. The following are requirements
of every server linked, or wanting to link to the network.
Requirements...
- Each server may have One Network Administrator and one Global Operator.
- Servers should have SSL & ZIP enabled for Server-Server connections and SSL for clients (port 6697).
- All opers should have read and understand the oper policies and the oper manual.
- Each server must use a name in the form [servername].microswift.com.
- Each server must use the network name MicroSwift.
- Each server should have a strong, fast internet connection.
- Each server should use the standardized network configurations and modules.
Linking Policies
Contact a Network Administrator if you are still interested in linking after reading these policies.
Note: NO, we will not change our network name to link to your one server. NO, we will not use your services
to link to your one server. NO, you cannot have 10 Netadmins. NO, you cannot be services root immediately upon
linking.
